LLP Registration Process: How to Register an LLP in India (2026)

Every stage of LLP incorporation in plain English — from reserving your name to filing the LLP Agreement — using the integrated FiLLiP form, with realistic timelines.

The short version

An LLP is registered fully online on the MCA portal. You reserve a name through RUN-LLP, get digital signatures for the designated partners, file the integrated FiLLiP form (which also allots DPIN, PAN and TAN), receive the Certificate of Incorporation, and then file the LLP Agreement in Form 3 within 30 days. Start to finish, it's usually about 7–15 working days.

Here's exactly how it unfolds. Tap through each step.

Your LLP registration, step by step

The forms, decoded

A few MCA forms drive the whole process. Here's what each one does.

RUN-LLP

Reserve Unique Name — reserves your proposed LLP name and checks availability.

FiLLiP

The integrated incorporation form — registers the LLP and applies for DPIN, PAN and TAN in one go.

DPIN

Designated Partner Identification Number — the unique ID each designated partner needs.

DSC

Class-3 Digital Signature Certificate — lets each designated partner sign forms online.

Form 3

The LLP Agreement filing — submitted within 30 days of incorporation, on stamp paper.

Certificate of Incorporation

Issued by the Registrar with your LLPIN — proof your LLP legally exists.

What you have once it's done

  • Certificate of Incorporation — the FiLLiP Approval Letter — with your LLPIN
  • LLP PAN and TANissued by NSDL along with the FiLLiP Approval Letter (LLP COI)
  • DPIN for each designated partner
  • A registered LLP Agreement (Form 3)

With these you can open the LLP's bank account and start operating. The first compliance step is filing the LLP Agreement in Form 3 within 30 days; after that come the annual filings — Form 11 (by 30 May) and Form 8 (by 30 Oct). We handle all of it under LLP annual compliance. New to LLPs? Start with what an LLP is, or check the registration cost.

Skip the paperwork — we'll file it all

You've seen the steps. Hand them to a real CA and we'll run the entire FiLLiP filing and LLP Agreement for you — transparent pricing, in about 7–15 days.

FAQs

What is the process to register an LLP in India?
Reserve a name via RUN-LLP, obtain DSCs for the designated partners, file the integrated FiLLiP form (which allots DPIN, PAN and TAN), receive the Certificate of Incorporation, and file the LLP Agreement in Form 3 within 30 days — usually about 7–15 working days in all.
How long does LLP registration take?
Typically 7–15 working days when documents are in order — a day or two for DSC, a few days for name approval, and a few more for FiLLiP processing. Document errors or name rejections are the usual delays, which a CA filing avoids.
Can I register an LLP online myself?
Yes, the MCA portal is self-service. But a mistake in the FiLLiP form, name or LLP Agreement can mean a rejection and re-paid stamp duty, so most founders use a CA to file it right the first time.
What is the FiLLiP form?
FiLLiP (Form for Incorporation of Limited Liability Partnership) is MCA's integrated form that incorporates the LLP and applies for DPIN, PAN and TAN in a single submission.
What happens after I get the Certificate of Incorporation?
File the LLP Agreement in Form 3 within 30 days, open the bank account, and then keep up with annual filings — Form 11 and Form 8. See LLP annual compliance.
