Documents Required for LLP Registration in India (2026)

Exactly what you need to register an LLP — partner KYC, registered-office proof and the LLP-specific papers — with a tickable checklist and an address-proof checker.

What you'll need, in three sets

LLP registration documents fall into three groups: partner KYC (PAN, Aadhaar, ID, address proof and photo for each partner), registered-office proof (a recent utility bill, plus an NOC and rent agreement if rented), and LLP-specific papers (DSC for each designated partner and the Form 9 consent). Tick them off below.

The LLP-specific papers

Digital Signature (DSC)

A Class-3 DSC for each designated partner, used to sign every MCA form electronically.

Consent to act (Form 9)

Each designated partner signs a consent to take on the role and its compliance responsibilities.

LLP Agreement (filed in Form 3)

The agreement defining partners' rights and profit-sharing — executed on stamp paper and filed within 30 days. See the LLP Agreement guide & free format.

DPIN

The Designated Partner Identification Number — allotted through the FiLLiP form during incorporation, so no separate document is needed upfront.

FAQs

What documents are required for LLP registration?
For each partner: PAN (or passport for foreign nationals), Aadhaar, an identity proof, a recent address proof and a photo. For the office: a utility bill within 2 months, plus an NOC and rent agreement if rented. Plus LLP-specific items: a DSC for each designated partner and the Form 9 consent.
What address proof is accepted for the registered office?
A recent electricity, gas or phone bill (or bank statement) no older than 2 months. If the premises are rented, add a No-Objection Certificate from the owner and the rent agreement. Use the checker above.
Do all partners need a PAN card?
Indian partners need a PAN card. Foreign nationals provide a passport (and documents are usually notarised or apostilled). Every partner also needs a valid address proof.
Is a rent agreement mandatory for LLP registration?
Only if the registered office is rented — then you need the rent agreement plus an NOC from the owner. If the property is owned, the ownership proof and a recent utility bill are enough.
Can the registered office be a residential address?
Yes. An LLP can be registered at a residential address as long as you have a valid recent utility bill and, if rented, the owner's NOC.
